We had the honor of participating in the “International Culinary Tourism Congress” which took place in Estoril (Portugal) on April 8th to April 11th.
First, we must congratulate our friends APTECE (Associação Portuguesa de Tourismo Culinária e Economia), organizer of the event, which for four days has brought together international representatives of a phenomenon, that is gaining more and more strength and is called upon to renew what so far we understood as gastronomic tourism: It is not about tasting something anymore… it is about knowledge.
The Portuguese spirit of True Food Alliance®, Rita Martins, showed the philosophy of our products and destinations, offering the unique opportunity to know the true history of the Iberian gastronomy through culture, nature and the people that makes it possible
Our work goes far beyond a tourist route. The route of True Food Alliance® emerges as an essential complement to our real work: keeping the production of unique foods to preserve unusual territories, in this case the Iberian Peninsula.
It has certainly been a great opportunity to share experiences with some of the leading experts in the field and to verify that the work of our partners (producers, farmers, chefs, hotels, etc.) to maintain the flavor, the landscape and the culture, is what really matters to people who travel to learn about #TrueFood.
